~Smoky at the nestbox~

When we arrived at McKay Tower about 5:30pm today there was no activity at the box. We decided to wait and watch. Before long we were rewarded by a fast fly-in to the nest, and again very quickly Smoky exited and flew to his lookout point above.

I finally caught a shot of Smoky in the box just before he left. The camera was pointed into the sun so the pix aren't the best but at least he's visible.

Mom Misty must be so far back in the box that we can't see her from the ground even with binocs and camera zoom. Once the eggs hatch she'll be sitting higher.
